Jamal Edmonds
A master hair technician, educator and master hair stylist Jamal’s skillful hands continue to make a statement in the industry in the form of creative contribution to commercial print, education, glamour, media, and the runway. His work was featured in an episode of the Style network’s program, “Whose Wedding is it Anyway?” Jamal’s work was published in The Business of Professional Modeling, a book featuring more than 100 industry professionals. His artistry appeared on the cover of Washington Life magazine and was featured in editorial spreads in Essence magazine.
Under his leadership, Salon Lamaj was a finalist for Steve Harvey’s Neighborhood Award for Best Beauty Salon, two years in a row. He has provided his hair care expertise to numerous famous tresses, including June Ambrose, author, celebrity stylist and costume designer; Debra Lee, chairman and CEO, Black Entertainment Television (BET); Eva Marcille, actress, fashion model and television host; Bevy Smith, television personality; Angie Stone and Elle Varner, Grammy-nominated musicians.
